OUR CORPORATE IDEOLOGY CENTRES AROUND FIVE PILLARS
Premium Tonewoods
We meticulously select high-grade woods for our guitar necks and bodies. This includes 4A+ Indian rosewood and 3A+ Canadian maple for necks, along with maple veneers rated no lower than 4A. To maintain wood stability and resonance, we utilize our own in-house drying facilities, ensuring optimal preparation before the building process begins.Top-Tier Components
Every guitar made by ChillCat Guitars is equipped with premium hardware and electronics. We source our hardware from Ping-Well, a trusted Taiwanese manufacturer, and our electronics from reputable Korean suppliers. This guarantees excellent performance right out of the box—no upgrades required—whether you're a beginner or a seasoned performer.
Expert Craftsmanship & Finishing
Our manufacturing team, with a minimum of 10 years of experience each, follows a complete and refined guitar-making process. For finishing, we use high-quality paint imported from South Korea, giving our guitars a flawless gloss and transparent look that enhances both beauty and durability.
Rigorous Quality Control & Professional Setup
Every stage of our guitar production process follows strict quality control standards. Once a guitar reaches our tuning shop, it undergoes a comprehensive first inspection conducted by our experienced quality control team, based on a detailed checklist. Only guitars that pass this initial inspection are sent to our warehouse.
Before any guitar is shipped, a second full inspection is performed to ensure it meets our high standards. In addition, each instrument receives our signature 4-star setup, which includes fret end dressing, fret crowning, fingerboard oiling, and a tone adjustment—ensuring optimal playability and performance straight out of the box.
Customer-Driven Innovation
We actively listen to our customers’ feedback during product development. Our goal is to create original designs and models that cater to a wide range of playing styles and preferences—Because your voice matters in shaping the future of ChillCat Guitars.

Our journey began in 2014, when I launched my first guitar brand—Bad Cat Instruments. With the help of amazing early supporters like Jimi Photon, Nick, and Chris Taggart, our “Luxury Green” model took off and orders poured in. It felt like a dream coming true.
But success brought challenges.
Gibson came after us with legal threats, and later Bad Cat Amp followed with their own claims. At that time, I knew little about intellectual property, and as a small company, the pressure was overwhelming. It truly felt like being bullied by giants. Still, we fought back—and we stood our ground. For a while, we had to give up the Bad Cat name and switch to Shengze, my Chinese name. Even when CGTN wanted to interview us, we couldn’t use the brand that carried our passion and history. Those were painful moments, but also proud ones—because we never stopped creating, building, and believing.
As years passed, the original Bad Cat brand faded. To all the loyal supporters who stood with us, I’m deeply sorry. I’ve carried that regret for a long time—but also a promise to rebuild.
In 2022, we registered a new name: ChillCat.
And this time, we’re moving forward with clarity, strength, and independence.ChillCat isn’t just a new brand. It’s our comeback.
It’s the continuation of our story—with more innovation, more passion, and more heart than ever before.
ChillCat is here to stay—and this time, we’re building something even greater, delivering more value and a richer, more meaningful experience for the people who believe in our brand. -
