Earlier this year, ChillCat Guitars received a complaint from Gibson concerning products in our Unicorn Series. As a result, our website was temporarily unavailable for approximately three weeks while we addressed the matter. We sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued support shown by our customers during that time.
When our website returned, we launched a special 35% OFF storewide event for two important reasons: to thank our loyal customers for standing with us and to give more musicians an opportunity to experience ChillCat Guitars.
This was the largest storewide sale we offered in 2026—and it has now officially ended.
Going forward, we do not plan to offer another storewide discount of 35% or more. At that level, our profit margin is reduced to nearly zero—and, in some cases, results in a loss. Maintaining sustainable pricing is essential for us to continue operating, improving our instruments, and investing in better materials, components, craftsmanship, and quality control.
Occasional discounts may still be offered on selected models, special releases, or clearance inventory. However, the 35% storewide promotion was a special, one-time event created in response to an extraordinary situation.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2027
Beginning in 2027, prices on ChillCat Guitars are expected to increase by approximately 5%–10%. This adjustment will support several important product and production upgrades, including:
• D’Addario strings across all ChillCat Guitar models
• Locking tuners on selected models
• Alnico 5 pickups on selected models
• Full maple caps on selected models
• Further improvements to our fretboard-leveling and fretwork processes
• More rigorous and refined quality-control standards
These upgrades require additional materials, time, skill, and attention throughout the manufacturing and inspection process. While they will increase our production costs, they will also help us deliver better playability, improved reliability, more consistent quality, and greater overall value.
Our goal is not simply to raise prices—it is to raise the standard of every ChillCat Guitar we produce.
